Roof Storm Damage Guide

What To Do

1. Inspect Your Roof From the Ground
Walk around your home and look for missing shingles, damaged flashing, fallen tree limbs, or other visible signs of damage. Binoculars can help you inspect your roof without climbing onto it.
2. Check Inside Your Home
Look for water stains, damp insulation, or new leaks in your attic, ceilings, and walls.
3. Document Any Visible Damage
If it is safe to do so, take photographs of damaged areas, fallen debris, and any interior water damage before cleanup begins.
4. Prevent Additional Damage if It Is Safe
If water is entering your home, take reasonable temporary steps to protect your belongings and reduce further damage without putting yourself at risk.
Safety First
Never climb onto your roof after a storm or during wet or windy conditions. If you see downed power lines, structural damage, or other hazards, stay clear of the area and contact the appropriate utility company or emergency services. Personal safety should always come before protecting property.
