Johnson County Trusted Contractors (JCTC), operated by YourPal LLC, connects homeowners with participating local contractors. Before contacting or hiring a contractor listed in this directory, please read the following information.
JCTC Verified Contractor
Every contractor publicly listed in the JCTC directory must hold the JCTC Verified Contractor designation.
JCTC does not sell higher verification levels or paid placement within its directory category listings. We do not use “Preferred,” “Premier,” or similar paid contractor designations. A contractor’s placement within JCTC’s directory or lead rotation is not determined by bidding more or paying JCTC for a higher position.
JCTC may separately offer clearly identified advertising, sponsorship, or featured-content opportunities. Purchasing such services does not change a contractor’s verification status or guarantee placement within JCTC’s directory or lead rotation.
What “Verified” Means
To receive and maintain the JCTC Verified Contractor designation, a contractor must:
- Submit a completed contractor application
- Provide accurate business and contact information
- Agree to the YourPal Homeowner Standards Agreement
- Provide proof of required licensing when licensing applies to the services offered
- Provide a current Certificate of Insurance
- Maintain an active and reasonably accurate contractor profile on the JCTC platform
JCTC reviews the Certificate of Insurance and records the stated policy-expiration date. Contractors are required to provide updated documentation to remain eligible. A Certificate of Insurance reflects the insurance information available when the certificate is issued and reviewed; it does not guarantee that coverage will remain active or apply to a particular project or claim.
Verification is not a workmanship guarantee. JCTC confirms that a contractor met JCTC’s listing requirements based on the information available at the time of verification. JCTC does not inspect completed work, supervise projects, control contractor operations, or guarantee the quality, safety, pricing, timeliness, or outcome of any work performed by a listed contractor.
How JCTC Is Paid
JCTC charges contractors a one-time $50 profile setup fee. JCTC may also charge participating contractors a category-based lead fee after a homeowner confirms that the contractor made contact, subject to JCTC’s applicable lead and billing terms.
Homeowners are not charged by JCTC to browse the directory or submit a request for an estimate.
Contractor fees compensate JCTC for services that may include application review, profile creation, directory operation, contractor visibility, homeowner resources, lead processing, communication, and lead-routing services. The amount a contractor pays does not purchase a higher verification designation or priority over other eligible contractors in JCTC’s directory or lead rotation.
Contractors Are Independent Businesses
Contractors listed by JCTC are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, joint venturers, partners, or representatives of Johnson County Trusted Contractors or YourPal LLC.
Each contractor is solely responsible for its own pricing, estimates, scheduling, licensing, permits, insurance, employees, subcontractors, warranties, workmanship, contracts, and communications with homeowners. Any agreement for services is made directly between the homeowner and the contractor.
Homeowner Due Diligence
JCTC’s verification process is intended to provide homeowners with a more informed starting point. It is not a substitute for a homeowner’s own evaluation and judgment.
Before hiring a contractor, homeowners should:
- Confirm that licensing required for the proposed work remains active
- Request current proof of insurance applicable to the project
- Review references and publicly available customer feedback
- Obtain and compare written estimates
- Confirm who will obtain required permits
- Review warranties and project terms
- Read the complete contract carefully before signing or making payment
JCTC does not guarantee that any contractor is appropriate for a particular homeowner, property, project, or budget.
