Information We Collect

We collect information that homeowners, contractors, and other users provide directly to us. Depending on how you interact with JCTC, this may include:

• Name, email address, phone number, city, service location, and other contact information
• Project descriptions, requested service categories, estimate-request details, and related homeowner communications
• Contractor business information, ownership or primary-contact information, service categories, service areas, website information, and public business-profile or review links
• Licensing information where applicable, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), insurance information, and other verification materials
• Contractor application information, profile content, logos, photographs, descriptions, and other materials submitted for JCTC participation
• Lead activity and operational records, including lead offers, Accept or Decline responses, offer expiration, contact-confirmation information, routing history, and timestamps
• Billing and transaction records, including payment status, receipts, credits, refunds, disputes, and chargeback-related information
• Communications with JCTC, including email, SMS, customer-service, complaint, dispute, and account-related communications
• Consent, subscription, unsubscribe, and opt-out records

We may also collect limited technical information automatically when you use the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from technical data, and website interaction information collected through cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies.

How We Use Your Information

We may use information we collect to:

• Operate the JCTC website, Homeowner Resource Center, contractor directory, referral services, and contractor network
• Process homeowner estimate requests and connect homeowners with participating contractors
• Process contractor applications, conduct JCTC verification, create and maintain contractor profiles, and administer JCTC Verified Contractor status
• Route contractor lead opportunities and maintain records of lead offers, responses, contact confirmation, and related activity
• Process payments, maintain billing records, administer credits and refunds, and review disputes or chargebacks
• Send operational email or SMS communications concerning applications, profiles, leads, payments, security, customer service, or other JCTC services
• Send homeowner newsletters, educational content, or other marketing communications when the recipient has opted in or when otherwise permitted by applicable law
• Review complaints, contractor performance concerns, verification issues, misuse, fraud, security incidents, or violations of JCTC policies
• Maintain records, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and policies, and protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of JCTC, homeowners, contractors, and others
• Analyze and improve our website, directory, services, communications, and operations

Information Sharing

We may share homeowner inquiry information with participating contractors when reasonably necessary to respond to an estimate request or provide the requested connection service. The contractor receiving that information is permitted to use it for legitimate purposes related to the homeowner’s request and reasonable follow-up concerning that request.

Contractor business information may be used to create and display public JCTC directory profiles. Private application, verification, insurance, billing, or internal review information is not made public except when the contractor authorizes it, when disclosure is reasonably necessary to operate the service, or when disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We may also share information with service providers that help us operate JCTC, such as website hosting, cloud or data-storage providers, email and SMS providers, payment processors, analytics providers, security providers, and other vendors performing services on our behalf. These providers receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform their functions.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, court orders, governmental requests, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security concerns, enforce agreements, or respond to disputes. Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, reorganization, sale, transfer of the business, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.

JCTC does not sell personal information to third parties.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.

Contractor Information and Public Profiles

Contractors applying to or participating in JCTC may provide information used for verification and network administration, including business information, service categories and areas, licensing where applicable, insurance documentation, website or public business-profile information, and profile materials. JCTC may also review appropriate publicly available business information as part of its contractor review and verification process.

Information intended for a public contractor profile may be displayed in the JCTC directory and related category or promotional pages. Contractors are responsible for notifying JCTC when material profile or verification information changes.

Payment Processing

JCTC uses third-party payment processors, including Stripe, to process applicable contractor payments and other authorized transactions. Payment-card information is submitted to and processed by the payment processor and is not stored by JCTC on its website servers. JCTC may retain transaction records such as payment amount, date, status, receipt information, billing-related correspondence, credits, refunds, disputes, and chargeback records as reasonably necessary for business, accounting, compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Email, SMS, and Communication Preferences

JCTC may send service-related or operational communications concerning submissions, applications, contractor profiles, lead activity, payments, customer service, security, and other account or service matters.

Where consent is required for text messages or marketing communications, JCTC will use the applicable consent process. Recipients may request to stop applicable text messages, including by replying STOP when reply messaging is available, and may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting JCTC.

JCTC may retain limited suppression or opt-out information after an unsubscribe request so that the request can continue to be honored and the person is not inadvertently re-enrolled.

Analytics, Cookies, and Tracking

We may use cookies, analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and similar technologies to understand website usage, diagnose problems, improve performance, measure communications or campaigns, and improve JCTC services. These tools may collect information such as IP address, device or browser information, referring pages, pages viewed, and interaction data.

JCTC may add or change analytics, call-tracking, or similar service tools as our operations develop. When such tools are used, information is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the applicable provider’s terms and privacy practices.

Data Retention

JCTC retains personal and business information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide its services, maintain business and transaction records, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, protect the security and integrity of its services, and enforce its agreements and policies.

Certain records may be retained longer when required for an unresolved complaint, payment dispute, chargeback, investigation, legal claim, security matter, or other legitimate business or legal purpose. When information is no longer reasonably needed, JCTC may delete it, securely dispose of it, or anonymize it where practical.

Data Security

JCTC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, account-security practices, website security tools, backups, and use of reputable third-party service providers.

No website, transmission method, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should use reasonable care when submitting information electronically and should notify JCTC if they believe information or an account associated with JCTC has been compromised.

Your Choices and Requests

You may contact JCTC to request correction of inaccurate information you previously provided, to update communication preferences, or to ask whether certain personal information can be deleted. Some information may need to be retained when reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, security, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention, contractual, or other legitimate business purposes.

Third-Party Websites and Services

The JCTC website may contain links to contractor websites, social media platforms, payment providers, mapping services, and other third-party websites or services. JCTC does not control the privacy or security practices of those third parties. Users should review the applicable third party’s privacy policy before providing information directly to that service.

Children’s Privacy

JCTC services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old and legally capable of submitting requests, entering agreements, or participating in JCTC services. JCTC does not knowingly solicit contractor applications, estimate requests, or other service submissions from children. If JCTC learns that personal information from a child has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

JCTC may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in services, technology, business operations, or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by another reasonable method when appropriate.
